A cycle highway needs to have a start and end point, in most cases at a major city or village. At these so called “pivotal points” we need to have facilities to make connections. A popular facility is a so called “Park&Bike HUB” of “Mobility Hub”. In the cycle highway Industry meeting some partners announced to develop a Mobile Mobility Hub in order to test and move the HUB if needed and thus reduce the risk for governmental organisations.
For the assessment of coherence-connections one will need to count the missing links as (at least) two public transport links at start and two public transport links at the end , each village within 3km range of the cycle highway needs to be connected (at least) by one linking bike path. If there is a link to any other transport mode, at least a bike parking space needs to be provided (otherwise there is no link). A LEVEL-4 needs to have less than 10% missing links.
