Readability tool description

Quietways are continuous and convenient cycle routes on less-busy backstreets across London. This mobility product is designed for people who want to cycle on lower-traffic streets and are useful for people who are not used to cycling in London.

Just like the cycle superhighways, the quietways have their own network-brand on the scale of Londen. The brand colour is purple and this purple colour strategy is consequently used on the different readability tools like the network maps and the wayfinding system along the route. Each route has a unique letter-number code. The letter Q in the Q-codes refer to the general network-idenity and the number helpt to make the route specific.

The quietways are very recognisable by the visible white Q+number codes on the asphalt. This interesting readability tool makes the mobility product not only visible for the cyclists, but also for car drivers.
